This past weekend I followed the Michigan basketball team to their first and only game in the NCAA tournament in Nashville, Tenn. Here are couple of photos from my brief time in the center of honky tonk.
Here piggie, piggie.

Tomato soup is one of my most favorite things! It makes total sense, really. I love tomatoes and I love soup.
Here is my souper (har, har) simple tomato soup recipe:
Sweat one medium onion in a deep pot
Pinch of salt and pepper
Pinch of red pepper flake to taste
Add one 28 oz. can of whole San Marzano tomatoes
- I like to break them up just a little bit
Add one can 28 oz. can of water
-Bring to a simmer
Add a tsp of dried oregano
Allow to simmer on low for 30 minutes
After most of the water has cooked out I use a hand blender to puree the tomatoes and onions right in the pot
Add a whole bunch of fresh basil
Allow to simmer for 10 minutes
-I puree this one more time
Turn off the heat and add 1/4 cup of cream
Top with fresh basil leaves.
